How Do I Move a Project Into the WIP Phase?

Projects do not automatically get added to Project WIP when they are won, you have to indicate you've begun planning

When you mark an opportunity as Won, the Begin Project Planning action is now available.

On the Opportunities page:

Within the Project:

When you press this button, two things happen:

  • You're asked to assign a Project Manager (the person who owns the project management portion of the project). Note, you can always change this later.

  • The project is moved into the WIP phase, with the initial status of Prep/Setup.

💡 Tip: If a project came in by phone request or a handshake, you can add it manually straight into Project WIP using the Add project button at the top of the page. Just be sure to add it's full estimate (or at least a grand total) so RiffleCM can accurately track contract value.
