What is a "Bidder" in RiffleCM?
Every project in RiffleCM has at least one bidder attached to it — the company that sent the invitation to bid (ITB). That connection is what ties your estimate, your relationship history, and your win rate back to the right firm. Without it, RiffleCM can't score the project accurately or track your performance with that partner over time.
How Bidders Are Added to Projects
Riffle handles most of this automatically.
When a project invite/ITB comes in, Riffle sets up the project and attaches the bidding company along with any contact information included in the invite. If another ITB comes in for the same project from a different GC, a new project opportunity will be created.
If an ITB arrives from a company that isn't in your system yet, Riffle will flag it on the Project Details page and ask you to confirm before adding them. Once confirmed, they're saved to your Companies list and attached to the project going forward.
You can also add a bidder manually at any time from the Bidders/GCs section on the Project Details page.
💡 Tip: If you have multiple opportunities for the same project and want to consolidate, you can move Bidders from one project to another project.
When There Are Multiple Bidders
It's common to receive invites from more than one GC on the same project. Riffle keeps all of them attached to the project so you can track each relationship separately.
A few things worth knowing when multiple bidders are involved:
Win rate on the Project Details page shows the highest win rate among all attached bidders, labeled so you know how many bidders it's drawn from.
Marking an opportunity as Won will prompt you to identify which bidder was awarded the project. This keeps your win rate accurate and your relationship history tied to the right company.
Where Bidders Appear in Riffle
Project Inbox
The Company(ies) column shows the bidder(s) attached to each project.
Known contacts/bidders will have a checkmark icon next to their name, and link directly to their contact record. This allows you to view your relationship history with them before deciding whether to bid.
Unknown contacts will simply list the company name.
Project Details Page
The Bidders/GCs section is the full view of every company attached to a project. This is where you confirm new bidders, add bidders manually, and see the win rate Riffle has on file for each firm.
Opportunities Page
Bidder information carries through to your Opportunities page so your pipeline stays connected to the companies driving it. The Company(ies) column shows the bidder(s) attached to each project, just like the Project Inbox.
💡 Tip: If you see "+# more" in the Companies column, this means the project has multiple bidders. Go to the Project Details page to see all bidders on that project.
Why Bidder Tracking Matters
Knowing who's behind each project, and having that tied to your contact history, is what lets RiffleCM give you a clear picture of your pipeline by partner. Over time, accurate bidder records mean your win rates reflect reality and your team always knows which partners they work best with.
